Wood Badge wrapped up...

Sheldon and the rest of his Raven patrol counted down the days from the first part of Wood Badge in September until the second half October 8 - 10, Thurs - Sat. He said the little difficulties (freezing cold nights, heavy packs) were overshadowed by the whole "amazing experience!" He made a slide show and put it to music (thanks Josh for your inspiring music!). It was held at Fire Mountain, about an hour northeast of us. Now he has to complete 5 goals on his 'ticket' over the next (up to) 18 months to receive his Wood Badge beads at a ceremony! While Sheldon enjoyed Scouting comraderie and the great outdoors...

Natalie and Annaliese enjoyed 2 nights at Jeanine's parents', baking and playing games with their grandma and cousin! And Jeanine spent some time with the 3 boys! With no school on Friday, we watched movies, ran errands, went to Aaron's swim lesson, found some "finds" at the second-hand store, and the boys had McDonald's (that is a rare treat in a big family)! I did laundry, and used my corer/peeler/slicer for more apples from our backyard and dehydrated them this time (mmm). I also purchased a quart of Ladies Mantle (aka: lavendar) paint for my next small project -- painting the girls' bedroom wall! Annaliese invited a friend to Activity Days on Sat., and both Evan and Annaliese spent some time with friends that afternoon. However, Evan had to come home early from his "Kidz Love Soccer" class -- stomach ache, then a fever and just pretty miserable!

What a 3 days for everyone -- though we're glad to be back together again =)
