orchestra/band/choir winter concert
at their middle school assembly/concert
with a 'Christmas' theme =)
(To the tune of 12 Days of Christmas)
'In the last week of school before
Winter Break for two...'
[3 following lines, not sung]
Our kids asked me,
"where are all the Christmas cookies
Our kids asked me,
"where are all the Christmas cookies
at this time, like last year?"
'And, here was my reply...' =)
[following line, not sung]
Perhaps it's due to
Perhaps it's due to
'the 1 coffee cake, for the seminary breakfast,
the 2 lasagnas, for Dad's work party?
the hemming of Natalie's orchestra formal,
homemade gifts for 2 teachers,
and cub scout pack meeting!'
[following line, not sung]
And then, how about
'2 concerts,
youth dinner at the building,
(for which I baked some potatoes,
made sure rolls and gifts were purchased)
and Family Home Evening!'
[following line, not sung]
Then let's not forget
'visiting teaching,
and a visit to an elderly member,
some preparation for the ward
activity,
driving to and fro,
breakfasts, lunch, and dinners
and some SLEEP?!'
'We can't overlook
school projects,
church lesson preparation,
friends over after school,
BYD at our house
and I am exhausted!'
So kids, hopefully we'll get to those cookies soon,
with decorations all up, gifts purchased,
e-cards out, and NO SCHOOL! =)

Hee hee - my Christmas baking is slow to get started this year as well. We do the best we can, right? =)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Love,
Karen
Thomas says he likes that song (which he tried to sing) but it doesn't really match the tune. ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw via Facebook that you fit in cookie dough at midnight. Guess it was sleep that had to go? =) Sounds like a very festive & exhausting December. Hope you're able to fit in some relaxing in the week between Christmas and New Years! =)
