Article of Faith 13
The youth 14-18 will have the amazing opportunity and experience
of participating in Trek this summer!
The girls and Sheldon and I have been following the monthly (February - June)
outline in preparation of Trek and to receive the Achievement Award
(which will be presented individually).
There is a monthly theme with required historical background reading
from the Journal of the Trail.
There are also additional activities such as reading
specific articles, or giving a FHE on a certain topic, or recording your feelings
on the theme in your journal.
Additionally there is a preparation section
where we have had to gather Natalie's pioneer clothing and the needed items
from the provided list, as well as participate in an exercise program.
There have been family firesides and youth activities to attend, with a Temple
Trip in the plans.
We are so looking forward to Natalie 'walking the trail physically' as
we have been 'walking the trail spiritually' in preparation! =)

Our youth had a trek last summer. Jordan missed it by a year, but hopefully he'll catch one later before graduation! It sounds like an amazing experience!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for Natalie. That will be amazing. My younger siblings went on a trek a few years ago and it was such a neat experience for them.
