March On

We attended the All-Honor Festival of Music
performed at the High School.
Sixth graders in band, orchestra and choir
from 22 area elementary schools were selected by their directors to perform.
The kids devoted hours of practice time, including 6 rehearsals, in March
to get ready for the night's performance.
The band played 3 pieces.
The choir director was a breath of fresh air in this day and age;
4 of the 6 songs were spiritual in nature,
beginning with Gloria Fanfare and ending with God Bless America!
It was amazing!

Annaliese before the concert

Fay, Annaliese and Audrey (school friends in band; 2 play the flute)

Annaliese had her friend Fay overnight one Friday this month.

Her younger brothers love having Fay over =)

Fay doesn't have younger siblings, so she loves playing games with them,

and this time even helped build a fort for them! =)

Both Natalie and Annaliese performed well at their Saturday

afternoon spring piano recital =)

Natalie played Morning has Broken (Bastien).

And Annaliese played Canon in D (arr. Jon Schmidt).

Annaliese and Natalie with their fantastic piano teacher, Sister Lovell

The girls had the support of lots of family

including both sets of grandparents, their great grandma

and Uncle Tim and Aunt Debbie (who are moving to CO soon =(

It was fun to hear all the students' accomplishments as we celebrated (piano) music!

Sheldon and I went to the Stake Green and Gold Ball

at our Stake Center on a Saturday night in March.

Natalie also went, as the youth 14 and older were invited.

The decorations, food and band were all very impressive!

They even had a photographer (from our ward).

Since we realized it was Daylight Savings (that night)

and Natalie wasn't feeling well,

we stayed just long enough for a couple dances, a little food and a photo =)

  1. Awww...cute pic of you and Sheldon! It's fun to get to pose for a nice picture once in awhile. Jason and I attended the youth prom last weekend, and I made sure we hit the photographer's corner before we left. =)

Love all of the musical things you've done lately!
